Tenants & Organizations

What is a Tenant?

A Tenant in ModelHive represents an organization or team. Each tenant has:

  • Its own API keys with individual budgets
  • A wallet for centralized billing
  • Model access controls — choose which models are available
  • Guardrail configurations — per-tenant security policies
  • Analytics — isolated usage tracking and reporting

Creating a Tenant

Tenants are created during the onboarding flow when a new user signs up on the ModelHive Dashboard. Administrators can also create tenants manually from the dashboard.

When a tenant is created, ModelHive automatically:

  1. Creates an isolated workspace for budget tracking
  2. Creates a Wallet with initial balance
  3. Sets up a billing customer profile

Managing Tenants

All tenant management is done through the ModelHive Dashboard:

  • View all tenants — Admins see every tenant; users see only their own
  • Update tenant name — Edit in the tenant settings page
  • Configure guardrails — Enable/disable security policies per tenant
  • Manage model access — Choose which models are available to the tenant
info

ModelHive performs self-healing sync — if any inconsistency is detected in the internal state, it is automatically reconciled.

Deleting a Tenant

danger

Deleting a tenant cascades — it removes all users, API keys, wallet, settings, and analytics data. This action is performed from the Dashboard by an administrator.

Subscription Tiers

Each tenant has a subscription tier that affects HiveCache discount rates:

Tenant Analytics

Each tenant has dedicated analytics accessible from the dashboard:

  • Cache analytics — Hit rates, savings, and performance over time
  • Guardrail violations — Security events and trends
  • Compression stats — Token savings and compression ratios
  • Spend breakdown — Per-key, per-model, per-provider cost tracking
